This problem has preoccupied scholars and philosophers since Socrates to this day. As experts point out today, the crux of the matter is in the lack of a comprehensive approach to this problem in general. An attempt to attack it has been made in the following recent publication:

A.S. Hotseya, Theory of Society in 3 volumes. Vol. I,

Methodology. The Coming-to-be of Society, Kazan, 1999.

Numerous attempts by sociologists and historians to work out a "formula" for the progress of human history have so far been futile. This has been largely because every scholar insisted on his own interpretation of events, emphasizing one particular regularity while ignoring most others. An attempt at comprehensive synthesis has been made in the following recent publication:

A.S. Hotseya, Theory of Society in 3 volumes. Vol. I,

Methodology. The Coming-to-be of Society, Kazan, 1999.

"If one tries to find some methodological parallels to the views of the authors- sociologist M. Galiev points out, - "they are nearest of all to Marxism (which is natural for any monistic concept of history) and a system approach. But orthodox Marxists can hardly be expected to join ranks with this particular scholar, to say nothing of subscribing to his radical revisions of the system approach. He regards society as a single whole, and his personal interpretation of the concept of this 'whole' is a far cry from the notions of present-day science." This applies to the recent publication:

A.S. Hotseya, Theory of Society in 3 volumes. Vol. I,

Methodology. The Coming-to-be of Society, Kazan, 1999.

Are you looking for some "iron-clad" explanations for various aspects of social progress which have not yet been formulated by modem research? If you are interested in the logic and a logical sequence of different stages in the establishment of different social structures, you may try and find some answers in this recent publication:

A.S. Hotseya, Theory of Society in 3 volumes. Vol. I,

Methodology. The Coming-to-be of Society, Kazan, 1999.

The book can be obtained through the libraries of Russia and CIS countries. You can place your order at the following address: 420503 Kazan, Post Box 7, A.S. Hotseya, ore-mail: materialist@raidenbancorp.ru.
